Liposelection
Lipo Selection only by VASER is an exciting revolutionary procedure for body reshaping which targets just the fat cells you want removed. It uses the latest technology to gently dissolve fat cells and remove fat in your thighs, hips, abdomen, love handles, knees, back, arms, neck and chin.
Why is Liposelection so different to Liposuction?
Lipo Selection is the latest generation of ultrasonic assisted systems and the most advances approach to fat removal available today. It is able to differentiate fatty tissue from tissues such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue that should be left largely undisturbed, yielding exceptional shapelier, smoother results and promotion faster recovery. With its unique patented technology, Lipo Selection by VASER liquefies and then removes fat, which is why it can be gentler, more effective, and provide faster, more predictable results.
What will happen during surgery?
The operation will take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending upon the amount of fat to be removed. Your procedure will be performed under Local Anesthetic with Sedation.
During the procedure, the area to be treated is filled with a special saline solution that helps numb the site and shrinks blood vessels to minimize blood loss and reduce bruising. This solution makes the fat cells easier to liquefy with the VASER System.
Small probes transmit sound energy which dissolves fat cells, leaving other important tissues undisturbed. Then a gentle suction and massage of the treated site removes the fat quickly and easily. The small incisions through which the saline solution is introduced will heal quickly.
What will happen in the recovery period?
You should expect to feel some soreness; this will last about a week. Other than the slight discomfort, you should be able to resume most of your normal activities immediately.
After the operation you will need to wear a special garment for one week. This garment must be worn for 24 hours a day for 7 days, after a week you return to the clinic to see the surgeon to have your bandages and sutures removed.
Recovery
The recovery varies with the extensiveness of the procedure, however, most patients return to normal activities within days as compared with the weeks normally anticipated with other fat removal systems.

The Complications that may occur after liposelection are:
i) Excessive fluid loss. This can lead to low blood pressure or fluid accumulation that must be drained.
ii) Inflections. Infections may happen after any surgery and may occur after liposelection as well. Antibiotics are usually prescribed to all patients even before the infection.
iii) Embolism. Embolism may occur when fat is loosened and enters the blood through the blood vessels broken during liposuction.
iv) Skin laxity, Waviness or Dimpling. The skin may become less elastic and even “baggy” after the liposuction if a large volume of fat has been removed from a large area. Usually this may happen to older patients.
v) Minor Depressions. These are small regions that have an opposite appearance from the dimpling described above. They may be over-treated after some time allowed for settling.
vi) Injury to the nerves, skin or vital organs. Very rarely, the ultrasound energy used to liquefy the fat cells may cause injury to the skin or deeper tissues.
vii) Asymmetries. Due to removal of more fat from one side compared to the other side (for example, in buttocks) asymmetry may occur.
viii) Numbness. The small incisions made with the liposuction tubes are very thin, so the scars will be scarcely visible. However, scarring also depends of the areas where the procedure took place. In the groin and lower limb where the scars cannot be ‘concealed’, the traces may remain noticeable for many months until fading.
